I brought my cat, Golly, to Encanto Pet Clinic for a routine maintenance check-up. The experience was deeply distressing from start to finish, and ultimately ended in tragedy. Parking in the front was extremely limited and full, forcing me to carry Golly in his carrier a long distance from the back lot. Inside, the exam room was small and uninviting. The vet recommended several tests, which I agreed to, and I requested they clean a black mass deep inside Golly’s ear. I asked for this to be done under sedation, but they preferred to do it without. They took him to the back for the procedures. I could hear Golly groaning. When he was brought back, he had defecated in his carrier—something he had never done before in his life. When I asked the assistant for supplies to clean it up, she gave a vague response, pointed to some tissues, and walked out. That same day at home, Golly lost his balance, was flopping to one side, and showed signs of severe vertigo. Suspecting an infection from the ear cleaning, I brought him back 1–2 days later. I was seen by a different vet and charged another full exam fee ($100+). While Golly was literally flopping around on the floor below us, this vet went on and on with repetitive explanations until I had to interrupt and plead, "Let’s just do something... I’d prefer to try antibiotics first." The antibiotics restored his balance, but his overall health rapidly declined over the following weeks. He became fragile, struggled with stairs, and hung his head low to the ground. I had to make the agonizing, heartbreaking decision to put him to sleep just weeks after that initial visit. Shortly after he passed, I emailed the clinic to express my concerns. I never received a response. A little over a year later, I received an automated reminder email from them stating: "Time to bring Golly in for care." That final insult is why I am writing this review now. Avoid this clinic if you want compassionate, attentive care for your pets.

When it was time for my 18 yr old Chihuahua Sofi-Marie to cross the rainbow bridge, the staff was so kind and patient. They didn't rush me to a decision. Sofi and I were treated with love, compassion and respect.
