Dr. Cohn is an absolutely amazing veterinarian, and I am so grateful I found him when I needed help for my dog, Anubis, during a very frightening situation.
On Saturday, Anubis was hit by someone riding a motorized scooter. They were traveling approximately 30–35 mph on a side street and unfortunately did not see him in time. The impact was hard enough that the person was thrown from the scooter and the scooter itself was damaged. Anubis suffered a serious injury to his front right leg and paw and could not put any weight on it.
I spent several hours trying to find a veterinarian who could see him. When I called an animal hospital, I was quoted over $2,500 just for the visit and treatment. Then I called Dr. Cohn. From the very beginning, he was kind, compassionate, straightforward, and completely transparent about the pricing and what I should expect. When he quoted me the price I was relived to know it was a fraction of the price of what I was quoted from the animal hospital!
It took me a few hours to figure out how I could come up with the money for the house call, anesthesia, and procedure. By the time I was able to call him back, his office was already closed. I explained my situation, and despite being finished for the day, Dr. Cohn came to my home that evening and performed the surgery right there in my living room.
He did an amazing job not only with the medical care but also with explaining everything to me. He carefully went over what to expect during Anubis’s recovery, what I needed to do for his aftercare, and what signs I needed to watch for.
What impressed me even more was that he didn’t just leave after the procedure and forget about us. Even though he was not open on Sunday, he followed up to check on Anubis and see how he was doing. He was completely honest with me about his recovery and what I might or might not need to do moving forward.
I cannot thank Dr. Cohn enough for helping Anubis when we were in such a difficult and scary situation. His compassion, honesty, affordability, and willingness to help us after hours meant more to me than I can put into words.
I sincerely hope I don’t have to call him again anytime soon because that would mean Anubis is doing well! 😂 But if I ever need veterinary care again, Dr. Cohn will absolutely be my first call. I will also recommend him to anyone I know who needs veterinary services.
Thank you so much, Dr. Cohn, for taking care of Anubis and for being there when we needed you most. You truly went above and beyond, and I am incredibly grateful! ❤️🐾
Dr. Cohen has been our vet fur years (haha) now. He always goes the extra mile and really cares.
I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews.
Dr. Cohn is about as close to a saint as you can get these days. He came to my home and helped me say goodbye to the last of my pack of five. My little Rosie was 16 years old. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through, but he understood. He cared. And most importantly, he showed up.
He didn’t know me or my sweet Rosie, but in that moment he treated us with patience, compassion, and professionalism. He was calm, gentle, and incredibly respectful during one of the most painful moments a pet owner can face.
Something people may not realize is that euthanasia is never a simple process, even in a clinic. When it happens at home, you are present for more of the reality of it. As someone who worked in a veterinary clinic, I’ve seen the parts most pet owners never have to see. At home, the process can feel more raw simply because you are part of every single step, helping carry a heavy pet, or using a bag to contain the unavoidable messes, it's all part of it.
Dr. Cohn handled everything with care and grace. He is one person doing incredibly difficult work — helping families through one of the hardest days of loving a pet.
Saying goodbye to a beloved companion is never easy, but I am deeply grateful that Rosie and I had someone as kind and compassionate as Dr. Cohn to help us through it. 💚
He seemed very rushed when he came to put our dog down. He was impersonal. He did not explain what he was doing or ask us if we were ready, or walk us through the process as you might expect when putting an animal down. Very much lack of sympathy and empathy, He just seemed cold and indifferent. Also, he carried a large dog out of the house on a sheet with the help of the owner. Overall, not very professional or humane. I would not recommend him for putting your pet down.
